Walking in Waco

A few weeks ago, Kellyann, Shelly, Lisa, Andrea, Chrissy, and myself met up in Austin for some MUCH needed girl time. If you're new here, you may not know that last year we all met up for the very first time in Nashville and had so much fun that we absolutely KNEW that we wanted to do it again. AND...we may or may NOT have already decided on a 2020 destination, but I'm not telling. Shhh!

On Friday, we got up early and drove about two hours from Austin to Waco to say, Hello, to the Silos of Magnolia. None of us had been before, except for our fearless chauffeur Shelly, who is a Texas girl herself.
This was one of the very first pictures that we took that day and it's my favorite. Unfortunately, Chrissy wasn't able to join us until the next day and we missed her oh-so much. I would also like to mention that it was rather cool and brisk that morning, but of course, the temps warmed up throughout the day. Just look at that blue Texas sky!
We shopped, oohed and ahhed, ate lunch from food trucks, and were blessed with the shortest line evah to get cupcakes! (I forgot to mention that we actually began our day at Magnolia Table with Joanna's WONDERFUL homemade biscuits with strawberry butter and pumpkin butter. One of us may have eaten the remainder of the pumpkin butter with a knife, but I'll never tell.

We all felt like the highlight of our day was the Waco Tour with our guides, Ben
and Dom. They made the tour so interesting and fun! We laughed so hard and I still have the song, "Running Bear" stuck in my head. We met, Jimmy Don, from Fixer Upper, got all the insider info on Chip and Joanna, toured the Baylor campus (Beautiful!), saw several homes that were revealed on the show, and simply fell in love with Waco. All of us highly recommend Waco Tours!
We headed "home" to Austin, made a stop at Buc-ee's, where a certain person went a little crazy over a BEAVER, of all things! Lots of laughs at the infamous Texas gas station. Next, it was a trip to HEB, another first for me and some of the other girls.  I've heard so many bloggers mention the grocery store, but to finally step into one was fun. We all grabbed our favorite wine and fixings for a charcuterie board back at the cabin. All I can say is that the six of us make a mean charcuterie board! Andrea introduced us to fig preserves with a certain cheese (that for the life of me, I can't remember right now!) and it was absolutely delicious!

Such an amazing day! Waco, you were wonderful!
