Currently ~ March 2019

I think everyone is ready for spring, including this winter-loving mama! There! I've said it. Bring on day-light savings time, flip flops, open windows, and the smell of fresh cut grass. But the mosquitos, floods, and humidity, can certainly take a hike! Ain't nobody got time for those things! It has been oh-so cold this week, but we actually got to see the sun yesterday and it was wonderful! I hope your week is sunny and bright, too.
I certainly couldn't let Fat Tuesday go by without wishing my readers and friends a Happy Mardi Gras!! I may not care for all the craziness and party fever that this day means, but I DO love the colors and decor (of course I would since purple is my favorite color!). Here's what I'm currently up to!

scheming || Wayne and I are planning a trip to the beach over Easter break and we've decided to make it a surprise for Baby Girl. Our anniversary is the day after Easter and so we're scheming a "secret" get away. I can't wait to throw a bathing suit in a Vera Bradley bag and hit the road!

reading || Yesterday I shared my ONE book for February. One book! I'm currently reading, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson because Jamie Ivey suggested it. It's been a while since I've read a non-fiction book, but it has won a bunch of awards and is suppose to be made into a movie.

buying || I recently found these cute little wooden pieces in the Target dollar aisle. They are so cute and perfect for St. Paddy's Day.
making || I tied on my Betty Crocker apron Saturday morning and made some fleur de lis sugar cookies to celebrate Mardi Gras. They turned out so cute so I decided to package some up and give away to our friends and neighbors. My kitchen is my happy place and after a short hiatus, I'm glad to be back in it and doing what I love.
accomplishing || I honestly have nothing for this prompt for March.  Unless you count the fact that I finally took the two bags of clothes I've been staring at in the spare bedroom since Christmas to Goodwill this weekend. We have lots of plans and to do lists coming up this Spring and summer, so ask me again in a few months.

In the meantime, I would LOVE for you to write with me for 3 Things next Monday! Here are the March writing prompts! See you then!

  4. I can't wait to get to the beach. This winter has felt really gloomy and cold to me! I promise I won't complain about the heat and humidity in August. (ha, ha - you know I will!)

  8. Your cookies are so fun! And a getaway that involves a bathing suit is the best kind of scheming I can think of.

  11. Copied all the prompts for this and then LIFE got in the way, and the post never happened but just so I keep up with it, I think I'll go ahead and write it up now. Your cookies look melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Yay for a beach vacay. We visited the Pacific ocean over the weekend on the shores of Washington state but it was so cold. Not really the beach, in my book, if you can't enjoy the water!
