Nine Things I Learned In 2018

Was 2018 a great year for you?

I don't normally spend alot of time looking backward, but today I wanted to share a few thoughts about 2018 and what life taught me last year.

Walmart pick up service has changed my life || Y'all. I can't say enough about this. If you are still shopping for groceries or really ANYTHING at Walmart, you are truly missing out. Download the app, set up your account, and thank me later. It is so easy and so totally worth it!

I hate tornados || We camped out more in our hall bathroom this past spring than we ever have. And let me just say that being woke up in the middle of the night to sirens is the scariest. I dream of being killed in tornados, y'all. I know that sounds crazy, but my grandmother was scared of storms so I guess I get it honestly.

Heart attacks are real || It's not necessarily that I didn't believe heart attacks happened (I do work in healthcare after all), but I never thought that Wayne would have one. If anything good came out of his episode last summer, it was that our eyes were opened to our personal health and wellness and how important it truly is.

Water Isn't So Bad || Would I rather have a Diet Coke? Well, of course I would but I can't begin to tell you how much better I feel with drinking water. Do I drink the daily requirement, well probably not, but who cares? It's still water. And it's good for you.

I heart roller coasters || The first time I ever rode a roller coaster was like 1997 when Wayne and I went to Six Flags with some friends for the weekend in Dallas. Oh, I was so scared, but finally riding one made me realize that they weren't so bad. This past summer in Disney, I lost track of the number of times we rode the roller coasters and it's something that I'll always remember I think because Alise was finally old enough to ride and she loved them just as much.

8th Grade Middle School Is A Breeze || Eighth grade ain't got nothing on sixth and seventh. I am SO thankful for a kinder and less drama middle school year.

God Answers Prayers || Of course I already knew this, but it's worth remembering. Above all else, I'm learning that His timing is always perfect.

I'm Over Taylor Swift || Alise is already talking about her next concert and I had to break it to her, "Mama ain't going to another TS concert!" I mean, I'm not saying she doesn't put on a fabulous concert, but come on! For heaven's sake, pick someone else!! Seriously, I'm done.

Strangers Sometimes Make The Best Friends || These Girlies!! They make my heart so happy. Who would have ever thought that meeting strangers for the first time would turn into such beautiful friendships! We all talk to each other every day and it's just THE BEST!

A new year means new opportunities and new chances to get it right. A clean slate, a new beginning and that is something this Girlie is looking forward to very much!

    1. We've seen Taylor Swift TWICE and although I think her concerts are fabulous, I really wish Alise would pick someone else to see.

  7. Isn't it funny how 8th grade is calmer? I think its because they're the TOP of the middle school chain :) ... & then high school starts. haha
I have turned into a water-holic myself. In thanks to all the ice I eat & crave now. Bring on all the peeing!!! :) haha

  8. I need to get on the grocery pick up wagon. I've tried it, but I'm not regular with it. And all of our stores offer free pick up! Great list. I know what you mean abut the heart attack - you never think something like that can happen to your family.

  9. I'm not even sure our local store offers pick up but I might have to look into that! I can't imagine living with tornadoes as a regular threat. We had never even heard of them up here until a few years ago and now at least a few times we've had little bursts and they scare the bejeezus out of me!

Undeniably imagine that that you stated.
Your favourite justification seemed to be on the
net the easiest factor to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked whilst other folks think about worries that they just do not recognize about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top and outlined out the whole thing without having side effect ,
other people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.

    Thank you

  12. Hate that you had to learn more about heart attacks first hand but thankful your Prince Charming was eventually back to normal after his. I have been away from home so much lately that I have hardly gone grocery shopping. But I sure do appreciate Walmart's grocery service. Question: do you have to pay for it? Someone told me they have to pay $5. I haven't ever had to pay so thought that was curious.

  13. I feel like I'm one of the few left standing who won't ever go to grocery pick-up services, ha ha! Even though it's always a job to wrangle our two small children in and out of the car and juggle the cart and such, I just love the chance to get out of the house and mingle with other people a bit. If I ever go back to work again, I'm sure I'll try it in a heartbeat, though!
