Amy Hannon, Y'all!

If you've been following me for a while, then you know how much I LOVE Amy Hannon! If you're not following her on IG, you should be! I'm not even sure how I discovered her, but I think it may have been on Jamie Ivey's Happy Hour podcast about three years ago.

So when I found out in August that Amy was coming to speak at one of our local churches, I immediately got tickets for Leigh and I. And good thing I did because the event sold out! I, however, got the weekends mixed up, so Wayne and I had to speed back from our weekend escape a little earlier than we had planned. It was all good, though.
Amy's message of Love, Welcome, Serve made my hostess heart's night. She loves entertaining and blessing others through the gift of "intentional hospitality."  Her mission is based on 1 Peter 4: 8-11 and her heart for the Lord is so genuine and encouraging for this busy Mama! Her personality just radiates with kindness and love and  Amy truly desires to serve others.
I'm not quite sure why this table had all the hand soap at their table? Leigh and I had a great laugh about that. Maybe they were afraid of catching the flu that seems to be rampant right now in our city?
Here's Amy's husband, Sam, assisting with her book purchases.  Sam pastors a church where they live in Arkansas.
Amy passed Leigh and I in the hall way after taking this picture and she said, "Cuuuutteeee shirt!" When I walked up to her table to have my book signed, she told her handler, "See? This is the girl with the shirt I loved! I told you I needed to start wearing more red!" Night made times TWO! We are planning a trip to EunaMae's very soon!
I finally got the chance to tell Amy how much I'm sold on her brown sugar chili and cheese grits. Y'all!!  It is THE BEST recipe I've made in her cookbook to date! I told her that I can no longer eat chili without cheese grits and that I'm trying to get my husband to eat them that way, but he won't try it. Amy said, "Once you have chili with cheese grits, you can never go back!" Amen!

The absolute PERFECT evening to ring in the Christmas season!

  9. Laura, I love this so much. I need constant reminders about being hospitable. Not because I don't want people over, but I don't love to cook. lol I keep saying I will make a series of easy recipes that are perfect for entertaining. Maybe that's what needs to go on my to do list!
