My friend Angie Elkins (who has a GREAT podcast called, Chatologie, by the way!) posted this yesterday and I love it! I am so blessed with the life that God has given me. When I have a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving, I am content with what I have and at peace in situations that normally make me anxious. What are you thankful for this year?
So here we are! The day before Thanksgiving 2019! I hope your Turkey Day is filled with lots of family memories and great food!
What We're Eating This Week || Speaking of food, break out the fat pants, Ladies! I'm not a turkey and dressing kinda girl, so just give me all the side dishes. Which, by the way, I had a poll on my IG stories earlier this week and I was surprised to find that about 45% of you like cranberry sauce. I'll just stick to sides and pass on the sauce. My contributions to our feast are cajun corn casserole, cracked out green bean casserole, and chocolate cake. Also, if you saw my IG stories last week, you saw a text between my mom and I. Looks like I'm in charge of the pecan pie this year, too.
What I'm Reading || Give me all the Christmas books! I've read this stack in the last few weeks and currently reading, Christmas Shopaholic. It's cute.
What I'm Watching || Wayne and I had a date night last week and went to see the movie, Ford Versus Ferrari. For this girl that cares nothing about cars, this movie totally kept my attention and we really liked it. I'm hoping to see the Mr. Rogers movie sometime over the holiday weekend. Alise and I went to see Frozen 2 last night and we liked it.
What I'm Missing || I haven't gotten around to finishing up my post about the remainder of my visit to Austin, but just know that I am SOOO missing these girlies right here! These pictures were all taken on Saturday while we did some brunching and shopping. Chrissy was able to join us and our group was complete.
What I'm Excited About || Finally a weekend with no basketball games, so Wayne and I are headed out of town and the word "excited" would be a total understatement!
What I'm Wearing || I am officially on the mustard wagon, y'all! And it looks like the trees in North Louisiana are, too.
I love this cowl neck sweater. It's light and has a soft cashmere feel. It is also longer in the back which is perfect for these oh-so comfortable leggings from Amazon. I love them so much that I have them in burgandy and black. They are a thick ponte knit and are very slimming. Think, "suck you in." Ha! They are definitely my favorite leggings of the season.
What I'm Listening To || Thanks to Shelly and my love for Dolly, I've been listening to this podcast.
My walking game has been hit or miss lately, so I haven't been listening to as many podcasts. I enjoyed this sermon about social media. If the link doesn't work, the title sermon is Disconnect to Connect and you can find it at Long Hollow dot com.
What I'm Working On || I'm trying to get my blogging mojo back and hoping after the holidays that I can begin writing more than just once a week. So many friends have asked me to bring back "3 Things," and I'm seriously considering it. I"ll keep you posted!
What I'm Loving || Absolutely LOVING the fact that you girls are linking up with us each week! It's so fun getting to visit your blogs to say, Hello, and see all your fashion inspiration. Just look at Ashley in this leopard wrap dress and over the knee boots!! It's my favorite for the week!

And so now...it's your turn!

I'm not really a cranberry sauce fan and I think gravy is just gross so heap on those mashed potatoes, veggies, and stuffing! I too am all about the sides. We're not having pecan pie this year and I am so bummed (I like to throw a cup of chocolate chips in mine and that chocolatey, nutty dessert is my favorite!!)… but we only have 7 of us this year and I really do not want tons of extra desserts lying around after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Alise is healed from the flu! I still need to get my shot. Your leggings look so good with that mustard cowl neck - perfect for Thanksgiving! I am thankful for my friends - especially this year!
ReplyDeleteLove you, have the very best Thanksgiving!
xo,
Kellyann
Your mustard is marvelous my love. I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since we were all together, love seeing these pictures, they always make me smile. I don’t think I have that one of you and I together. You will have to send it to me. I’m so glad Alise is feeling much better and I am beyond grateful for you! Happy Thanksgiving sister! xo
ReplyDeleteI love that gratitude quote! I'm going to have to check out the Dolly Parton podcast. It sounds great! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Ooh good to know on the Ford vs Ferrari movie - we rarely watch movies, but it's always good to have an idea in your back pocket of one that can interest wife AND husband :)
ReplyDeleteHope everyone at your house is healthy and ready for a great Thanksgiving - enjoy the holiday! And that weekend away - yay!
Dangit...I totally forgot to pick a favorite this week!! I somehow missed that your sweet girl had the flu...not sure how but I did. Hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! We really liked the Ford v Ferrari movie, too!
ReplyDeleteNOT THE FLU... well, maybe that will give all the antibodies to everyone now & you're flu-free for the rest of the season!!!
ReplyDeleteI want to read a Christmas book but right now, I have 3 books that automatically downloaded from the library so I need to speed read those in 2 weeks - CHALLENGE ACCEPTED :)
