Just So You Know....

...We just got in from a trip to the Pediatric After Hours Clinic. Baby Girl has a very bad urinary tract infection. All I can say is that it was the second worst doctor's visit in Alise's history (if you consider this).

If someone had told me while I was pregnant that I would one day be on a grimy floor of a children's clinic bathroom, hugging my Baby Girl while she was on the potty and begging her to just try and tee-tee, I would have thought you were crazy! She was screamin and crying and then I started crying, too. Mommie and daugher were a complete wreck! She kept wanting to know where Dr. Stanley was. I just so wanted to transfer all that she was feeling into my own body and take the pain for her.

So I am going to be taking care of my little girl this weekend.

  1. oh, that poor baby! So sorry she is in pain. I have had many of those myself and know how terrible it is for an adult so I can not even imagine for a child. I'll be thinking about you guys!

  3. Bless her poor little heart! I've had my share of UTIs and they are not fun. I can't imagine a little girl having one that doesn't understand what's going on. I know exactly what you mean about taking the pain for your baby girl. I absolutely hate it when Katie is sick. It tuggs at your heart and you feel so bad about it.

Give her kisses for me and I hope she feels better very very soon. Love & Kisses!

  4. I am so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine her being a big girl and having to go through this. My little one had one at 1 years old. It was the most horrible thing I have ever been through. She had had a stomach virus and we could barely get her cleaned up before she would go to the bathroom again. The doctor wanted to check to make sure she didn't have to have kidney reflux. She had the dye test and ultra sound. A-w-f-u-l. I knew in my heart there wasn't a problem that she just got this from the stomach virus. Again I am so sorry for Alise.

  9. Oh Laura, my heart goes out to the both of you. It's so hard watching your baby in so much pain and wishing so much that it could be you in her place.

Bella was born with a hemangioma on her right arm and when she was only 1 month old it began to ulcerate and break down. The pain she endured was excruciating and there were so many times I'd wish it were me going through it so she wouldn't have to.

I hope Alyce recovers soon from her UTI!

  11. omg I know that feeling exactly! Every time something happens to Avery, I pray and BELIEVE that God can really transfer the pain. No doubt he can, but I guess thats just not the way it works :( I beg him to let me feel the pain though! Hope she feels better soon! :)
