  1. I never know what to give either! My sister in law who is a teacher loves it when all the parents go in together for a gift card - that way she can truly buy something she normally wouldn't...Mani/pedi gift certificate, flowers (what girl does not love a bouquet!), anything monogammed like a beach towel (they have cute ones at tjmaxx for $7) you could put it in a bucket with sunscreen and a magazine, movie theater gift card, the stationary stores in my area have some cute tote bags on initial stationary. Goodluck!

  2. Since I am a teacher, I can help you out here. Get a gift card to Sonic or Starbucks. Lots of teachers go to Sonic Happy Hour! :-) I had a student give me a gift card to Starbucks for Christmas and it was awesome. You can also go with a movie theme and get a little bowl, diet coke, and popcorn, with a candy bar, and gift card to the movies, and wrap it up. We love that stuff too. You don't have to spend a lot. We appreciate the thought.

  4. Last year, I did a basket for each teacher with their favorite candy bar, a personalized note pad, a small plant for their desk, and a pretty pen. This year, I think I am going with the gift card idea.

  5. A bath basket if the teacher is a lady. I tell ya, after a day of teaching my TWO I need a long soak with a good book. Give her some smell goods and a book. :) I can't imagine tending to and teaching more than what I teach a day. Hee hee!

  7. I have a ton of ideas and ways to find out what your child's teacher wants on my blog. Come on over :)

  8. I agree with the mani/pedi and it does not cost a lot of money. Some nice spring flowers in a pot like tulips would be a very nice gesture too.

You could also look at organize.com for some great idea. Teachers are always looking for organization items...even its just for themselves: )

  9. I have a friend that made a gift called the "Pitcher Perfect Year." She took a pitcher and filled it with candy and snacks that had different sayings on them. As a teacher, I always liked it when parents asked about my favorite places to eat and would bring me lunch or gift cards to those places. For LB's teacher we got a VISA gift card for her to use however she wanted to remember the class.

  10. Gift certificate to a nearby coffee shop? I have many friends who are teachers and have shared this with me: resist the urge to buy a dreaded mug for your teacher. I am guilty in the past of buying the dreaded mug, I admit! ACK!

Our class goes in on teacher gift at Christmas and the end of the year and it is capped. The gift is a generous gift card (usually a bank gift card).

Someone just mentioned the bucket idea--I LOVE that! Cool!!!!!

  11. I like the mani/pedi idea and also, the gift card to Starbuck's. I LOVE Starbuck's mocha's. I'll miss that about Henderson. Here, I have to travel about 15 miles to the nearest Starbuck's.

Whatever you do will be greatly appreciated, I'm sure.

  12. I like to give plants or flowers that can be transplanted into the yard! So springy!

  13. Last year, I got cute little watering cans and put flower seeds in them and wrote "thanks for helping me bloom" on herb garden markers, with Aidan's picture in them!! They turned out really cute!!
