Monday morning on the way to school, Alise and I were playing “I Spy.” Even though I am driving, I LOVE to play this old game with her because she is such an easy player. However, the conversation we had below threw me for a loop that day.
Alise: “I spy something orange.”
Me: “The leaves on the trees.”
Alise: “No, Mommie! Your teeth!”
Me: “My teeth?!? My teeth aren’t orange, Silly Girl!”
Alise: “Yes they are! They look like Aunt Mirya’s. When I grow up, I want teeth like hers.”
To this day, I am still confused. I didn’t eat anything orange that morning for breakfast and I KNOW I brushed my teeth. I also know that my dear, sweet, prego cousin-in-law does not have orange teeth, either. Mirya, I apologize. Maybe Baby Girl was just getting the colors orange and white mixed up that day…I have no idea. But feel privileged that she would MUCH rather have YOUR orange teeth than mine!! Ha, ha!! (As if my two phases of braces and the money my parents had to dole out in my tween years no longer matters!)
I am SO ready to begin decorating for Christmas! I am ready to put up all the trees in the house, replace the mirror with the huge Santa picture over my rose bowl collection, and display all of my nativity scenes (I collect them). Each year I try to add something new to my Christmas collection. A few weeks ago, I picked up some new table scarves and other accessories from a local home decorating store. I’ll show them to you in the next week or two when I am smack in the middle of my decorating frenzy. Be sure to show me your Christmas decorating style, too. What a fun way to get ideas, don’t you think?
If you have not tried Philosophy’s newest lip balm called “S’mores,” go to Sephora and order some NOW! It’s only $12 a tube and it is THE best lip gloss I have ever tried! The smell is awesome! I’m being facetious, but it’s good enough to eat!
